Marketing Manager | Fall Spring
The Marketing Manager is responsible for selling ad space to Johns Hopkins University affiliates, local businesses and national advertisers. The manager will also oversee and delegate work to the marketing staff members as necessary. The job requires someone who is professional, responsible, knows how to manage a team and is excited to work with the entire News-Letter organization. Familiarity and comfort using Excel is a plus. This is a paid position, and applicants will be expected to check the email address daily and work hard every week to meet minimum billing requirements. An interview with the current business officers and the Editors-in-Chief will be required. N.B. During the 2012-13 school year, the position will only be considered part-time. Training with the current Marketing Manager/Chief Business Officer will take place in the fall after which, the new hire will become the full time Marketing Manager in the spring. Applicants will be expected to stay on for the 2013-14 school year.

Subscriptions Manager | Fall Spring
The Subscriptions Manager is responsible for marketing and selling the new, alumni subscriptions service of the News-Letter. This is a new service being developed for the first time this year, so applicants should be creative and willing to work on developing a program that will become a long-term, consistent source of revenue for the News-Letter. If the Subscriptions Manager chooses to recruit subscriptions staff members, then the Manager will be expected to oversee and delegate responsibilities to those staff members. Applicants should have experience using Excel and be excited to contribute to the News-Letter. While this position is not paid, an interview with the current business officers and the Editors-in-Chief will be required.

The Johns Hopkins News-Letter: General Business Staff
General Business Staff | Fall Spring
Business staff members will work on News-Letter business staff supporting primarily the Marketing Manager in finding and working with both new and existing advertisers. The exact responsibilities of business staff members will be left up to the relevant manager (Marketing, Billing or Subscriptions), but generally these will include sending emails, making phone calls and visiting local businesses in person to sell ad space in the News-Letter. Staff positions are unpaid and will not require an interview. However, staff members should be excited to be a part of the entire News-Letter organization and be ready to put work in as their schedules allowed. Staff members who show consistent dedication, enthusiasm and success at their jobs will be strongly considered as candidates to fill future vacancies in the paid positions such as Marketing Manager, Billing Manager and (when relevant) Chief Business Officer.
