On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) is an opportunity for employers to interview multiple candidates in one location. Employers can customize the on-campus recruiting schedule to fit their needs, including screening and pre-selecting all candidates and deciding on the length of interviews (anywhere from 15 minutes to 90 minutes).
After posting a position in J-Connect, employers can select as many applicants as they wish to interview at a central location in the Career Center. The JHU Recruiting team will work with you to set an interview schedule that fits within your organization's recruiting timeline.

Post a Position for On-Campus Interviews:
- Log into J-Connect.
- Click on the "On-Campus Recruiting tab at the top of the screen.
- Click on the "Attach Position" next to your Johns Hopkins recruiting schedules. When this is completed, your information will be live for students.
Resume Referral Program
If you have immediate hiring needs, the Career Center can search our student and alumni resume database for resumes that match your criteria.
To Participate in the Resume Referral Program, send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org Include the following:
- Your name and full contact information (phone, mailing address, etc.)
- Your organization's website address
- An official position description
- Any specific search criteria you'd like to call attention to, such as degree or citizenship requirements
You will receive resumes within 1-2 days, and students/alumni will be notified of the referral.
Third-party recruiters may participate in the Career Center’s Resume Referral program under the following conditions:
- Third-party recruiters must provide an employer name, position title, and job description in writing (via email or otherwise) before receiving resumes. The Career Center will not contact the employer or communicate the employer’s name to students.
- Third-party recruiters must agree in writing (via email or otherwise) that resumes received will not be used for any employer or position other than those provided to the Career Center.

At Johns Hopkins University, students participate in internships both that are paid and unpaid. Academic credit for internships is coordinated through the student's academic department. Students may complete an internship in the summer, fall, and spring or during winter break (intersession). As an employer, it is your responsibility to be aware of the Federal government's requirements for unpaid internships, whether or not academic credit is awarded by an educational institution. For-profit organizations should review the U.S. Department of Labor's Internships and the Fair Labor Standards Act at http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/whdfs71.htm. Information sessions are short employer presentations designed to educate Hopkins students about your organization. These sessions are held Monday-Thursday, from 5-7pm on the Homewood Campus. Typically, an information session involves a brief PowerPoint presentation about the organization, a discussion of the types of opportunities available and then time for student questions; however, employers can shape the evening however they like. There is a $100 hosting fee, and additional fees do exist for catering. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis, and dates will vary by the academic calendar. There are two ways to register for an information session. The first is to use the "Events" tab in your J-Connect account. The second is to contact the Recruiting Team at email@example.com with your desired date.
Talk with an Expert
A second option is for an organization to host a "Talk with an Expert" event. "Talk with an Expert" events are brief lectures that provide students with the chance to learn about the opportunities or challenges associated with a particular industry/field and are open to all organizations. These sessions are held Monday-Thursday, from 5-7pm on the Homewood Campus. A "Talk with an Expert" event can involve a brief PowerPoint presentation about the presenter's organization, but the hope is that this type of presentation is more of an opportunity for students to learn about fields of interest; however, employers can shape the evening however they like. There is a $100 hosting fee, and additional fees do exist for catering. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis, and dates will vary by the academic calendar. For employers who are looking for a more informal method for meeting Hopkins students, we offer the chance to host an Open House on our Homewood campus. These events take place during daytime hours (10a-4:30p) Mondays- Fridays, and offer employers the opportunity to speak with students one on one about their organization. There are two ways to register for an open house. The first is to use the “Events” tab in your J-Connect account. The second is to contact The Recruiting Team at email@example.com with your desired date.
A second information option for employers is to host a Coffee Chat in one of the Homewood campus's popular cafes. These events take place during daytime hours (10a-2:30p) Mondays- Fridays, and offer employers the opportunity to speak with students one on one. Typically, the employer has the opportunity to set up a tab at the coffee cart and can meet with students who have pre-registered, or those students who stop in. Space is limited in the cafe, so registration is first come, first served. Please note that outside food or beverages is not encouraged. To register for a coffee chat, use either the "Events" tab in your J-Connect account, or contact the Recruiting Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Employer in Residence
The Employer in Residence program is the chance for one or more representatives from your organization to be part of the Career Center's team for the day. Students can schedule a 15-30 minute appointment to meet with you to review their resume, learn important industry-specific interview skills, work on mock interviewing, develop their personal network, and more. These events take place during daytime hours (10a-4:30p) Mondays- Fridays, and are subject to space in the Career Center office. There are two ways to register for an open house. The first is to use the "Events" tab in your J-Connect account. The second is to contact the Recruiting Team at email@example.com with your desired date.
This is a great opportunity for employers and alumni to volunteer to share their industry and career expertise with Hopkins' students. Students get a chance to practice their interviewing skills before the start of recruiting season, and learn more about career industries of interest.
Mock Interview Week (September 10-14) also provides employers the opportunity to build their brand on-campus and gain additional exposure to Hopkins' students. Employers and Alumni volunteer to conduct 45 minute long mock interviews (30 minutes for the interview; 15 minutes for feedback) which are conducted both in the Career Center's offices and by phone.
