  • Welcome Parents:

The Career Center welcomes parents to play an active role in encouraging your son or daughter’s career development. Our office offers individualized counseling and advising services that are specifically designed for each student’s career development needs. Through one-on-one counseling and advising, as well as presentations, events, and programs, we assist students in learning about their options after Hopkins and in developing the necessary skills to be successful. Our collaborative model encourages students to explore internships and opportunities while learning resume writing, networking, and job searching skills from our staff.

In addition to our goal focused counseling services, we offer numerous programs and events designed to link students with employers including on-campus career fairs, internship postings, off-campus recruiting events, and alumni networking receptions. Our students follow their passions into every imaginable career field and achieve success with a variety of employers and graduate schools. For a summary of our success, see the results of the recent post graduate surveys.

We invite parents to look at our website in order to see the full breath of our offerings. View our Careers and Majors section where students can find options about majors and learn about different career opportunities through our resources and our alumni. Finally, encourage your son or daughter to utilize our services throughout their four years at Hopkins. We look forward to working with your son or daughter and welcome your thoughts or comments about our services.

    Get Involved:

    Connect with Students:

    • Ask your student if they have met with a career counselor this year. This is especially important for seniors. We also encourage students to connect with our office beginning their sophomore year to take advantage of internships and other career exploration programs.
    • Take a survey! The Hopkins Parents Career Survey is designed to gather information about your experiences in your career field. By sharing your experience with students and providing them with specific information on your career field and industry they are better able to connect their interests with specific careers. View our current major and career profiles.

    Hire Hopkins Students:

    • Through the Parents Internship Network you can send existing internship and full-time opportunities at your organization to Casey Miller in the Career Center.
    • Provide the Recruiting Team with contact information for the human resources representative at your organization. When establishing relationships with organizations, it is important to have alumni, parents and other constituents who advocate for Hopkins students.
