    About the Programs:

The Second Decade Society Internship Grant

The Second Decade Society (SDS) is the alumni leadership development program for the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. These alumni are proven leaders in their careers, and are committed to helping Hopkins students succeed in their career aspirations. Thanks to the efforts of the SDS, several grants of up to $5000 each are available to students for summer internships. Internships must be unpaid or sponsored by a nonprofit organization. Internships must be a minimum of eight weeks, and students are expected to develop their own internships.

The award recipients will be granted the following:

    • With grant aid: Up to $3000 (pro-rated at $250 per week) toward the recipient's summer living expenses and $2000 credited directly towards his/her "summer savings" in the financial aid package.
    • Without grant aid: Up to $3000 (pro-rated at $250 per week) towards summer living expenses.

SDS Eligibility: Full-time, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors enrolled in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. Priority will be given to exceptional candidates currently receiving need-based grant aid from Student Financial Services.
