Students completing internships are increasingly being requested by the sponsoring organization, employer, or government agency to have a representative of the university sign a variety of documents as a requirement of their internship. To streamline this process, the Johns Hopkins Career Center serves as the central point of contact in managing these requests. Students needing such documents signed should follow this procedure to follow:

    • Students should bring copies of all the forms that need to be signed to Dawna Milligan Reeves, Sr. Associate Director at the Johns Hopkins University Career Center located on the 3rd Floor of Garland Hall.
    • Ms. Reeves will review all of the documents to determine the specific needs of the employer and the student and if other offices, such as the Registrar, Legal Counsel or Study Abroad need to sign or verify information contained in these documents.
    • Ms. Reeves will also communicate directly with the sponsoring agency/employer to verify the student’s enrollment and about the process for monitoring ongoing enrollment, hold harmless agreements, etc.

We have found that most students need to provide the Career Center with an Enrollment Verification Letter from the JHU Registrar’s Office to complete this process. To expedite the process, students are encouraged to request an Enrollment Verification Letter from the Registrar when they submit their forms to Ms. Reeves. To request the Enrollment Verification Letter from the registrar, students can use the form on their website at http://www.jhu.edu/registr/VerificationLetter.pdf If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please feel free to contact Dawna Reeves at reeves@jhu.edu.
