february 28: Updates, Attendees!
JohnCon 2011 is coming! April 8,9, 10th!
The board has spent a lot of time planning, organizing, and contacting attendees and is proud to officially anounce a (tentative) list of attendees! We will have webcomic artists, vendors, and panel speakers for this year! The convention is going to be amazing...
Webcomic Artists leading panels
Cyanide and Happiness- a cynical and vastly amusing webcomic by several different artists over at explosm.net. We're happy to have two people from explosm coming!
Surviving the World- a personal favorite, Dante Shepherd never fails to turn chalkboards into a true educating vector. Pshh, forget calculus, white boards are for life lessons! And science.
Manly Guys Doing Manly Things- Manly Guys is a power-charged falcon-punch-to-the-gut made of testosterone, muscles, and machismo. This webcomic has definitely fufilled my vitamin-T deficieny. (T is for testosterone, kids!)
Strawberry Death Cake- Strawberry Death Cake's blood-spattered pages kept me reading till dawn. No, your laptop screen isn't broken, this comic knows just two modes: red and less red. And it looks AWESOME.

.: come to JohnCon 2011!- April 8, 9, 10!
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE
You don't know what JohnCon is? Well, let me explain. JohnCon is an annual gaming convention held in Levering Hall on the Johns Hopkins University campus in the Greatest City In America, Baltimore, Maryland. Hosted by the University's science-fiction / fantasy and anime clubs, JohnCon completely talkes over the entirety of Levering Hall (Glass Pav, Great Hall, Hop Stop, the whole thing) for the weekend and runs 50 hours straight, beginning at 4pm on Friday and ending at 6pm on Sunday.
We offer a huge dealers' room, plenty of games (everything from board games to LARPs), a B-movie theater, 50 non-stop hours of yummy anime goodness, and best of all, GIANT PIXY STIX.
Wander the website for more information, and keep checking back - new con info appears all the time!

february 28: Updates Part II, Attendees!
PANEL SPEAKERS AND VENDORS
Panels
Disorganization 13! Disorganization 13. Is. Awesome. More descriptively, they're a large panel organization who will be giving three panels throughout JohnCon. Seven of their number will migrate down from the great north to induce near-cardiac arrest from laughter. Last year was pretty close, so I gotta say guys, be careful this year, Hopkins only has so many doctors nearby... But really, these panels will not be ones to miss and we look forward to seeing Disorg13 again!
Vendors
Epic Dan from Walt's- a repeat vendor, selling a mixture of games, books, dice, and even plush microbes! Attending our convention over another one! We love this guy. Also coming:
My Safe Haven Creations Craft
Matthew Pere's Fantasy Jewelry
Cynthia's
and more!
september 7: JOHNCON DATES ANNOUNCED!
April 8, 9, 10 of 2011!
Hey guys! Guess what guess what? THE JOHNCON DATE for 2011 HAS JUST BEEN OFICIALLY DECIDED! *cue party noise-makers and vuvuzelas*
*nraaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*
july 30: otakon
HopSFA members and JohnCon staff will be storming Baltimore's 2010 annual anime convention, Otakon! Possibly even in costume XD. We'll be handing out flyers and being generally awesome.
For all of you convention goers who are checking the site out to see what's what, more information will be posted in the coming months!
july 27, 2012: new layout!

WE'RE NOT DEAD YET!
I am proud to announce that the JohnCon website has been revamped and redone! I hope you all like the new layout! The old content is currently being organized and most will be accessible within the next month.
